Half Term Creative Workshops in Hampshire: Print, Fuse or Stitch!

Half term is nearly here, and if you're looking for inspiring and creative half term workshops for your young artists, I have just the thing.
This October half term, I will be running three hands-on creative workshops across the week. There will be Indian block printing, glass fusing and a sewing workshop with guest tutor, Wendy Turner. Each workshop is designed to be encouraging and friendly, with everything provided and no experience needed.
Indian Block Printing
Block printing is one of the oldest textile techniques in the world, with a long tradition in India. In this workshop we'll use carved wooden blocks and ink to turn plain fabric into something beautiful.
Exploring pattern, repetition and colour, each participant will create their own printed design to take home. It's very satisfying, wonderfully tactile, and surprisingly forgiving: every print has its own character, and the little imperfections become part of the charm.
Glass Fusing
This is a great class for any young person looking to explore colour and pattern in a really interesting way. Each participant will be guided to arrange and layer pre-cut colourful pieces of glass to design their own piece, whether that's a coaster, a small dish or a decoration. Their creation is then fired in the kiln, where the glass melts and fuses into a glossy, jewel-like finished piece. It feels a bit like magic!
Once they have designed their piece you will need to collect it about a week later once it has been fired in the kiln.
Make a Zipped Bag with Wendy Turner
This one is for budding sewers or any young person who would like to have a go at using a sewing machine. Guest tutor Wendy Turner will guide participants through a practical, confidence-building sewing workshop. Under Wendy's guidance they'll make their own zipped bag, ideal for a pencil case, make-up bag, project pouch or little gift.
So Why get your children creating this Half Term?
I strongly believe that being creative and exploring art is one of the best activities young people can participate in. It not only inspires, but builds resilience, confidence and a sense of achievement.
Book Your Place
Spaces are limited to 6 per workshop so everyone gets plenty of attention, and half term workshops tend to fill up quickly so you can reserve your space here.
