oil and wax painting
Cold wax and oil painting is an ancient technique which has unique characteristics of translucency, texture, body, and reflection of light. This medium uses a combination of natural beeswax and resin hardener, combined with oil paint, to give you many different avenues for expression, discovery, and creativity.
You will explore how to use the medium and create some experimental and atmospheric artworks. This is a process driven way of creating, using the materials to see what happens, rather than setting out with an intention - perfect for those who think they can’t draw as we are not aiming for an accurate representation of reality! We just see where the wax takes us...
glass fusing
Glass fusing is a beautiful medium for creating eye catching works of art. Using pieces of glass to create your design, it is then heated in a kiln causing them to melt and fuse together into a single art piece.
Our fused glass workshops are a relaxing, creative, and joyful process that will allow you to create a host of art pieces and decorative items.
You will be amazed at what you can create, even as a beginner!
GELLI PLATE PRINTING
Gelli plate printing is a playful and versatile printmaking technique that uses a soft, flexible plate to create layered, one-of-a-kind designs.
By combining paint, texture, and spontaneous mark-making, each print develops its own unique character with no press required. It’s a process that embraces experimentation, where unexpected results often become the most exciting part!
INDIAN BLOCK PRINTING
Indian block printing is a traditional printmaking technique that uses hand-carved wooden blocks to build intricate, repeating patterns.
Each layer of color is applied by hand, bringing together precision, rhythm, and craftsmanship. Rooted in centuries of heritage, the process produces richly detailed designs, where slight variations highlight the beauty of the handmade.
Eco Printing and Botanical Relief Casting
Explore the beauty of the natural world through our nature-inspired art workshops. Choose from either eco printing or botanical relief casting, or try voth!
These sessions use leaves, flowers, and natural textures to create unique, organic artworks. They're a lovely hands-on experience that encourages experimentation, mindfulness, and connection with nature.
